Animal in us.

„Animal In Me” at the first sight looks like an interesting idea of modern industrial design, which we can see on brand named T-shirts or sweatshirts. If that graphic would be placed on some brand piece of clothing – it will surely guarantee good sales.

Bright colors leading to positive associations aren’t everything. So here we have a man sitting inside of charming pseudo beasts, eyes o them both seems to be drugged, nails of the monster like colorful bottoms in a computer game plus multicolored lines arranged into different shapes – all of it refer to sounds and looks alike visualizations which we can see in different sound programs, that’s why “Animal In Me” would be also a great cover or sleeve for a CD.

It’s hard to interchangeably said if “Animal In Me”(while the title suggest something) is about beast deep inside me or about me inside a animal which devour me – both characters mix together into one , tattooed with the same pattern of curves, so they are – here and now, the most important, into centre of attention, all pointers point them. How could it be different? - while just here a fiery mutation is born – wild animal mixed with a human.

From the art point of view the graphic looks a little like Picasso paintings: not matching body parts, some of them to big, referring to the others, spicy mix of different, intense colors. There are too little geometrical forms, to call “Animal In Me” cubism, but in a layman eyes – a comparison like that could happened.

Wachtmeister have created an incredibly interesting graphic, which is all fully cooperated: the title, the message, the picture, the colors – all of it is vivid, clear, a little savage and wild. Colors are extremely strong and loud, what makes all work attractive for an eye. Just us in other Wachtmeister’s works – we’ll find invariable positive message in all of them.

That message is a little humorous, “Animal In Me” looks like sweet plush mascot from a toy shop. Not dangerous, but sympathetic. Not scaring, but causing smile. Just a happy creature with laughing muzzle – it’s not an ominous gesture but a joyful greeting.

An impression of motion is incredible – eyes of characters looks like they were pulsate, pointers head for concrete direction, patterns of the background seems to be drawn in a real time, just at this moment, while we’re watching. Lines compose something like channels resemble concrete monster moves. Is “Animal In Me” waking up while dancing?

That small graphic (50 x 50 cm) in limited edition (only 50 items) is a real windfall for modern art lovers. In “Animal In Me” we can see a joy and passion of creating, a pleasure which an artist had while forming it and we can also derive from it. Just look at the cheerful character of a monster – even jovial – you just can’t help smiling.
